Grief Counseling

Grief can involve a wide range of feelings that can include deep sadness, guilt, denial, sorrow, regret, numbness, and anger. The process of adjusting to a significant loss can be experienced in a very different way for different for people. Regardless of the type of loss (loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of health/independence, etc.), loss can be confusing, difficult to understand, and hard to work through.

Marie’s specialized form of grief counseling helps clients to process through hurtful and disturbing parts of their loss, including any negative beliefs about self, in order to support the gentle and respectful loosening of the hold that the feelings of sadness and of loss often have on people. Using interventions intended to install the happiest memories, similar to a tribute of the client’s loved one, Marie supports clients to further honor their loved one and the relationship that they shared.
